Scientific Name: Lynx rufus

Description: Bobcats look a lot like large house cats. In fact, in some places, they are simply called wildcats. They grow between 25 to 40 inches long and weigh between 8 to 30 pounds. Their fur can be various shades of brown with black spots and stripes. Bobcats live up to 12 years in the wild, but have been known to live up to 32 years in captivity .

Habitat: Bobcats can be found from southern Canada down into southern Mexico. They can be found in a variety of habitat types including forests , brushy grasslands , and mountains.

Food: Bobcats are carnivores , meaning they only eat meat. Bobcats are stealthy hunters and will feed on rodents, rabbits, large birds, and small deer.
